Active Members are persons qualified as Chief Building Inspectors and their inspection staff including plan checkers, Fire Chiefs and their Fire Prevention Inspectors, Public Work Directors and their inspections staff, Health Officers and their inspections staff. Also to qualify, a person must be primarily and actively engaged in the inspection of buildings and property for hazards arising from the construction use of said buildings and property and must be directly employed by a political subdivision or subdivisions and have an interest in the objects of this association.

Corporate Members shall be any corporation or association engaged in or interested in the aims and objects of this association. Also, any person employed by Municipal or Governmental agencies or private companies or corporations engaged in business allied with the objectives of this association, such as professional engineers, architects, designers, sales representatives or manufacturers of any material that pertain to building trades. Each such organization shall be entitled one or more representatives whose names shall appear on the roll of the members and who shall have all the rights and privileges of an Active Member except that of voting for and holding office as President of this association.

Honorary Members are those who have been given special recognition for long, faithful, and outstanding achievement and valuable service to this organization.
